2007 - 2008 Committees
Adoption - Develops additional and innovative programs for increasing adoption rates; evaluates current adoption policies and proposes revisions as necessary; develops programs which demonstrate the physical and mental benefits of animal companions.
Animal Welfare - Keeps abreast of current laws and guidelines regarding animal well-being issues and advises board if action is necessary; continues development of animal care standards and programs for improvement.
Development - Oversees established fundraising events; develops new methods of fundraising; establishs methods to increase bequests.
Editorial Committee - Continues current publication of PawPrints and special mailers; develops press releases on consistent basis; works with other committees as needed to develop written material.
Finance/Investment Committee - Reviews and revises, if necessary, the current investment policy; monitors financial issues in detail and depth.
Government Relations Committee - Works with government officials to establish appropriate relationships. Acts as liaison with all government bodies as necessary.
Humane Education Committee - Provides presence at all events; develops humane education materials for use at events, at the shelter, in classrooms, or for community groups. Develops spay/neuter materials for widespread community use and exposure.
Nominating Committee - Usually formed in April to address vacancies for the next year. Consists of three to five members that are not up for election at the following annual meeting. Determines nominees and conducts the election at the annual meeting.
Shelter Committee - Assesses functional aspects of the shelter facilities to meet operational needs, including planning and development for maintenance, upgrading, and replacement.
