Greetings

Attached is a picture of our sweet addition, Black Cherry (left), formerly known as Keira (A057334). We adopted her on October 15, 2009 and she fit right in from the start. She had only been at the Humane Society for about a week because her family had to move, and we are so happy to have her here.

She gets along great with our three kitties, two of which are HS alums - Patches (right), formerly known as Ginny, and Smoke (middle), formerly known as Tippy, as well as Grimm, who has become fast food begging buddies with Cherry.

Cherry loves to play catch and is crazy about gloves and pot holders. Tearing across the yard at break neck speed is her favorite thing to do outside. She's smart as a whip, too! If she needs to go out she lets us know and if the gate is left open to the upstairs, which is cat safe haven, she will only lay at the bottom of the stairs and wait rather than try to sneak up. She does, however, like to sneak on to daddy's cozy recliner at night and gets off quickly when she hears footsteps on the stairs.

We had come to see all the dogs and even visited with 2 others before taking Miss Cherry in with us. That was all it took. She played sweetly and even laid down next to the kids for awhile. We thought and prayed about it for about three days, but I can assure you we all knew deep down inside that she belonged with us.

Thanks to her former family for taking such good care of her and for teaching her to be such a good dog. And thanks to the Champaign County Humane Society for helping her transition from one family to the other be a loving and caring experience!
