"Callie"

I have attached a photo of Callie Lou (AKA "Kissafur, #34871; adoption date: January 15, 2000) for your alum gallery. She's doing just great and is a wonderful, well-behaved, dream dog. She got to see some of the countryside and meet her new extended family on an extended car trip to California via Wyoming over the summer (she also got over being car sick, thank heavens!). In Wyoming she went on long hikes in the Bighorn Mountains and saw elk, bison, mule deer, marmots, prairie dogs, and other assorted domestic and wild critters, which was very exciting for her. In Berkeley, ĘCallie got to go almost every day to the largest off-leash dog park in the US (fenced, of course), where she finally learned how to swim by watching other dogs and had a grand time playing on the beach and bothering pocket gophers. She also learned that drinking salt water causes immediate diarrhea. She was an outstanding student in her basic obedience class at the Berkeley Humane Society, and did very well also in an agility class. Now we're back in C-U and she is enjoying snoozing in my bed and romping in the snow with her next-door neighbor and best buddy, Trafford Navsara-Huntington, who is also a CCHS alum.
