Cricket & Bows
Adopted August 29, 2005

Recently, my husband and I lost two of our three pets (all dogs) to cancer, within a three week period.  Needless to say, we not only were in shock, but we were grieving (each was a sudden loss).

After our first pet, Mouse (a CCHS alum), died, we went to CCHS to see if there might be a puppy who needed a home.  We were fortunate to find "Cricket" who had lost her first owner (died) of 3 1/2 years, and who was returned by another adopted owner (in Ohio) because she "wasn't good with children."

It was love at first sight.  Cricket is a wonderful pet who was obviously loved a lot by her previous owners.  She's trained (walks wonderfully on a leash), has a very gentle spirit and beautiful brown eyes, and knows that "no" means to quit barking at inappropriate times.  She is not only one of the sweetest and best trained dogs we've owned, but probably the "prettiest."   Here's a picture of our new family member, looking her finest.  Thanks CCHS for making her available to us.  She's filled a very large hole for us.  She's not another Mouse or another Schatz, but she's Cricket, and we love her that way!
