Oct 5, 2005 - The Katrina "Shelter to Shelter" Fund reaches $12,940!

Sept 24, 2005 - Thanks to the generosity of our local community, our "Shelter to Shelter" campaign raised $10,970, every penny of which was spent on critically needed medications and supplies for three of our sister shelters in the Gulf States. Working through our vendors, we were able to obtain discounts or outright donations, which were shipped directly to shelters who are receiving rescued animals, or whose facilities were devastated by floods. These antibiotics, vaccinations, flea treatments and test kits are helping ease the pain and stress of hundreds of frightened animals orphaned by the storm.

*200 Feline Leukemia tests
*240 Heartworm tests (checks for other diseases common in the south as well)
*35 Parvovirus tests
*2000 Doses of Baytril (antibiotic)
*2020 Doses of Clavamox (antibiotic)
*200 Doses of Strongid (dewormer)
*200 Doses of Panacur (dewormer)
*150 Cat vaccinations
*175 Dog vaccinations (combo vaccine)
*175 Dog vaccinations (bordatella)
*200 Doses of Albon (parasite medication/stool hardener for cats)
*1000 Doses of Sulka-Prim (parasite medication/stool hardener for dogs)
*500 Monoject 3cc syringes

*90 Heartworm combination tests (These were donated in full by our vendor ~$500.00 worth of tests!)
