Concession Stand at Illini Games

We had so much fun the last three years that we are going to run a concession stand at Illini football home games again this season! Our efforts have earned almost $15,000 for the care of the animals at the shelter.

Overview:

Arrive about three hours before the game to set up and start cooking. We have to be ready to start serving when the gates open for fans, an hour and a half before kick off time.
Specific volunteer jobs include: taking orders and money, pouring drinks, filling popcorn boxes, salting pretzels, running the famous cheese machine and setting up nachos, cooking hot dogs, (making French fries if we get the larger stand), cleaning the stand and condiments table, stocking chips and candy.
After the game, we clean up and do inventory. That takes about an hour.
Given that each football game can last 3 hours or so, the entire shift can be as long as 6 to 7 hours when you add in the set up and clean up time.
