Help a Homeless Pet Find a Home This Weekend

Sphinx, Lion, Bee Bee and Pretty all have one wish this weekend Ð to find a new home during the Champaign County Humane Society's Spring Adopt-A-Thon! This special event starts at 11 a.m., Friday, May 5. The Humane Society has special extended hours this weekend, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. As part of this exciting event, all adopters will receive valuable coupons and free pet toys.

The CCHS adoption process includes application approval and a one-day waiting period before a pet can be taken home. Fees for pet adoption are $45 for cats and kittens and $60 for dogs and puppies. Call 217-344-7297 for more information, or visit the CCHS website at www.cuhumane.org.

Founded in 1951, the Champaign County Humane Society is a private not-for-profit organization. The CCHS strives to prevent cruelty to animals, to promote animal welfare, and to educate the public about the humane care and treatment of animals. The Humane Society is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
