Youre in luck! The annual Champaign County Humane Society Giant Garage Sale Extravaganza is set for Friday, May 23rd and Saturday, May 24th at Kesler Hall on the Champaign County Fairgrounds, Fairview and Coler Ave., Urbana. The sale runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, May 23 and 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Saturday, May 24. The sale re-opens at 1:30 p.m. for the $2 Bag Sale, which goes until 3 p.m. Donations of new and used items are needed! Large appliances, furniture and old computer equipment cannot be accepted. Paint, chemicals, windows and doors also cannot be accepted. Retailers are welcome to donate unwanted stock from their inventories. All donations will be accepted at Kesler Hall during the following times only: Founded in 1951, the Champaign County Humane Society is a private not-for-profit organization. The CCHS strives to prevent cruelty to animals, to promote animal welfare, and to educate the public about the humane care and treatment of animals. The Humane Society is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The CCHS adoption process includes application approval and a one-day waiting period before a pet can be taken home. Fees for pet adoption are $65 for cats and kittens and $75 for dogs and puppies. ### |
