Urbana, Ill.- Mark your calendar, grab your checkbook and get ready to have a great time! The Champaign County Humane Society, Hawthorne Suites and Insight are putting on the 6th annual A Fetching Ball at 6:00pm Friday November 11th at Hawthorne Suites in Champaign.
A Fetching Ball is a silent and live auction fundraiser held annually by the Champaign County Humane Society in order to raise the funds necessary to care for Champaign County’s pets in need. In previous years A Fetching Ball has seen private charter flights, one of a kind photography, sessions with a pet psychic, weekend retreats and even automobiles on the auction block.
Executive Director Jason Smith said, “Fetch is one of our most revered events. It is a great chance to socialize with friends, meet new people and pick up that one of a kind item that you have always wanted, all the time supporting an amazing organization with an indispensable mission. There is truly something there for everyone.”
CCHS, located at 1911 E. Main St., Urbana, one mile east of the intersection of Main Street and Cunningham Avenue, is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
CCHS, incorporated in 1951 by a diverse group of local citizens who cared deeply about animals, is not a government body and is not supported by tax dollars. CCHS is an "open door" shelter and accepts all animals needing shelter, regardless of age, physical condition or adoptability. As a local, not-for-profit charity, we exist through the generosity of many individuals and businesses and are supported by a community that cares.
