Press Release Meet Adoptable Kittens at the Champaign County Humane Society’s Kitten Shower The public will have a chance to shower adorable baby kittens with gifts at the Champaign County Humane Society’s Kitten Shower, Saturday, August 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana. The event is designed to get exposure for the many adoptable kittens available at the Champaign County Humane Society’s Urbana shelter. “During the spring and early summer months, literally hundreds of kittens are surrendered to our shelter and to other area agencies. Once the kittens are old enough to be adopted, we like to find new homes for them as quickly as possible,” explains CCHS Executive Director, Mary Tiefenbrunn. The Kitten Shower presents an ideal opportunity for people to meet the available kittens (approximately 40 of them) and consider the possibility of adoption. It’s also a fun way for CCHS to solicit donations that will help in providing care to kittens at the shelter. At the Kitten Shower, CCHS staff members and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the kittens, the adoption process, and what it takes to be a responsible cat owner. People interested in adopting a kitten will be able to fill out an application. Cat toys and other animal-related items will be offered for sale and educational materials will be available. Anyone interested in bringing a gift to the Kitten Shower should consult The Kittens’ Wish List:
