The Greater Good Charities GOODS Program operates similarly to a food bank, but with the goal of supplying pets and their people. Since 2011, their program has coordinated over 10,500 shipments of essential items like pet food and cat litter to communities in need.
How does it work?
GOODS will secure donations from national manufacturers and retailers, including Chewy.com, Purina, Hills Science Diet, and more. The program will alert local Ambassadors, like CCHS, when donated supplies are available.
As an Ambassador, we pay a small freight and handling fee to bring the goods to our community. Once received, the supplies will be distributed to participating Recipient Organizations, who will contribute a small fee to help share in the cost. Some of the goods will also supply programs at CCHS or at University of Illinois Extension.
Recipient Organizations are pre-approved groups with a wide range of goals and services: animal rescues and fosters, government-run animal facilities or law enforcement agencies housing animals, food pantries, veteran services, and more. If you're a
