You might remember Zev from his time at the shelter, when he was known as "Slick." Our staff and volunteers found him smart and eager to learn--traits that his new family sees in him too! When we reached out for an update on how he's been settling in, Zev's adopters wrote, "He listens really well. He has a lot of room for potential in training and he’s overall just a really amazing dog to me."
We love to hear that, but we also always ask about challenges because it's important for us to hear about the realities our new adopters face. They shared that Zev experiences "extreme separation anxiety," something many dog owners can relate to. It's hard to watch the pet you love struggle with stress and anxiety, and it can be challenging behavior for families to manage.
That's why we provide resources and give one-on-one follow ups when our adopters share concerns.
Zev's story reminds us that adoption is just the beginning, and we're grateful to continue to be a part of his "happy tail." Zev truly is a 'really amazing dog', and we're cheering him and his family on every step of the way.
