Sugar is a Staff Favorite!

3/2/2026

Here's what our Animal Care Staff, Cassie, has to say about her: "It's never a boring walk with Sugar. She's the most trainable and driven dog I've met, and she's both food and affection motivated. I've been really enjoying working with her, and she's gotten so much more confident here at the shelter. She's so cuddly and sweet, and yet perks up and locks in when it's time to train. She's very attentive and genuinely wants to give you her very best. And seriously, I say this with the upmost affection, but she looks like a bug. I can't look at photos of her without laughing. Her ears flop in different directions, and her tongue is always hanging out to the side. Despite the dopey appearance, she's so clever, and always finding a way to surprise me with how quick she figures things out. I truly love her dearly, and I want her to find a forever home that will do the same. If you want a friend who will make sure you never have a boring day, then come snatch Sugar up."

Pixel (Castiel)

2/13/2026

Pixel (we called him "Castiel" here) was adopted recently, and we were thrilled to hear from his new family about how he is settling in. It was such a thoughtful and thorough response that we wanted to share it all with you! His adopters shared their stories in Spanish, and we've published them here as written. (If you don't speak Spanish, and you don't have a preferred translator, we have also included a PDF of their submission, as translated by Google.)

Tygren is a Volunteer Favorite!

12/11/2025

Michelle, has to say about him: "Tygren must be best buddies with Tigger as this is the song I imagine them signing together, ‘The Wonderful thing about Tiggers, is Tiggers are wonderful things, tops are made out of rubber, their bottoms are made out of springs, their bouncey, trouncey, ouncey, pouncey fun, fun, fun, fun, fun’. Just like Tigger, Tygren is filled with lots of happy energy, is a little mischievous and has an abundance of love to give. This is a dog that once couldn’t be coaxed out of his kennel, now I fight off the kisses!! I love taking him out for walks that are filled with hops, skips and spins. Its time to find him a home!"
